MSRTC Earns ₹301 Crore During Diwali Season
Pune Division Leads with Highest Revenue; Minister Pratap Sarnayak Congratulates Staff

Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has recorded a remarkable revenue of ₹301 crore during the Diwali festive season this year. The highest earnings came from the Pune division, followed by Dhule and Nashik. Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman, Pratap Sarnayak, congratulated all officials and employees for their exceptional performance.

Between October 18 and October 27, MSRTC generated an average of ₹30 crore per day, amounting to a total of ₹301 crore in ten days. Notably, October 27, the day when festive travelers returned, marked a record-breaking revenue of ₹39.75 crore, the highest single-day earning of the year.
Among 31 divisions, Pune division topped with ₹20.47 crore, followed by Dhule with ₹15.60 crore and Nashik with ₹15.41 crore. Compared to last year’s festive season, MSRTC’s revenue has increased by ₹37 crore.
However, despite the festive success, MSRTC failed to meet its expected monthly target of ₹1,049 crore, which required daily revenue of ₹34 crore. Apart from April and May, the corporation faced continuous losses in recent months due to unseasonal rains and floods, causing over ₹150 crore in losses between June and September.
While divisions like Pune, Beed, Ahmednagar, Amravati, and Buldhana showed strong improvement, others such as Sindhudurg, Yavatmal, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, and Dharashiv performed poorly, pulling down the overall figures. Minister Sarnayak expressed concern over the underperforming divisions and emphasized the need for proper evaluation and performance improvement measures.
