‘I Will Make a Comeback to Team India’: SKY

* Fans erupt in celebration at Shri Bhairavnath Dahi Handi festival

Indian cricket star and former captain Suryakumar Yadav may currently be away from the cricket field, but he has sent a clear message that he will soon make a comeback to the Indian team. While interacting with thousands of fans at the Shri Bhairavnath Dahi Handi festival in Bhosari, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Yadav strongly hinted at his return. His statement has renewed excitement among cricket fans eagerly awaiting ‘SKY’s’ comeback.

The grand Shri Bhairavnath Dahi Handi festival was organised this year, as every year, under the guidance of Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge and by corporator Yogesh Landge. Suryakumar Yadav was specially invited as the chief guest for the celebration. As this was his first visit to Pimpri-Chinchwad, particularly Bhosari, tremendous enthusiasm was witnessed among his fans.

As soon as Yadav arrived at the Dahi Handi venue, thousands of fans filled the area with chants of “SKY… SKY… SKY…”. The beats of dhol-tasha, the festive fervour of Dahi Handi and the huge crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite cricketer created an electrifying atmosphere. MLA Mahesh Landge and corporator Yogesh Landge welcomed Yadav and thanked him for attending the celebration.

‘This Is the Sacred Land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’

Expressing happiness over visiting Pimpri-Chinchwad for the first time on the occasion of the festival, Suryakumar Yadav described Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad as the sacred land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

He said that his journey from Mumbai to Pimpri-Chinchwad was quick, comfortable and enjoyable despite the rainy weather. He also expressed satisfaction that the Missing Link project on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway had made the journey faster.

Yadav also praised the work of MLA Mahesh Landge. He said that he had come to thank “Mahesh Dada” for undertaking the construction of the world’s tallest statue of Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Stating that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj are his revered icons, Yadav said that Mahesh Landge deserved immense appreciation for the initiative. Having lived in Mumbai since birth, he added that he had profound faith in and respect for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

‘Play for the Country and Win’

Praising the performances of young athletes, Suryakumar Yadav delivered an inspiring message to emerging sportspersons across the country. He said that young athletes were delivering outstanding performances not only in cricket but also in various other sports, bringing glory to India at the Olympics, Asian Games and other international competitions.

“Every player should continue working hard with the determination that we must play for the country and win,” he said.

On the occasion of Dahi Handi, Yadav also shared his views on Indian festivals and celebrations. He said that India’s festivals, celebrations and traditions have an inseparable connection with the life of every Indian.

Whether in India or abroad, people celebrate festivals joyfully with their families and friends, he said. “Our festivals, celebrations and traditions are the true identity of India,” Yadav added.
