Mumbai:
After Diwali, schools begin planning their annual educational trips. To ensure safe and affordable travel for students, the MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation) will provide 800 to 1,000 buses from 251 depots across the state.

Last year, between November and February, MSRTC supplied 19,624 buses for school and college trips across Maharashtra, generating a revenue of ₹92 crore (including compensation charges).

This year, MSRTC has instructed all depots to provide new ST buses specifically for school excursions. A 50% discount will also be offered on the total fare. Depot managers and station supervisors are visiting schools and colleges to create awareness about these services.

Transport Minister Pratap Sarnayak stated that each depot is appealing to schools and colleges within its jurisdiction to organize trips to religious, historical, and tourist destinations. Depot and station heads are personally meeting principals to encourage them to use MSRTC buses for the excursions.
