Pimpri-Chinchwad : In a critical on-site meeting held to review the status of ongoing infrastructure work on Wakad Datt Mandir Road, representatives from several housing societies came together for Meeting No. 23 with the PCMC engineering team. The aim was to address multiple civic issues that have remained unresolved for months.

Sachin Londhe, Vice President of Pimpri-Chinchwad Society Federation, led the discussions and strongly represented the collective concerns of the residents.

Key Points of Discussion:

Slow Progress & Execution Delays: Residents voiced dissatisfaction with the lack of progress and unclear timelines for the road and infrastructure development.
Speed Control Measures: Proper placement of speed breakers, speed tables, island tables, and 150-meter U-turns was discussed in detail to improve traffic flow and safety.
Signal Placement & Safety Enhancements: Residents insisted on the urgent need for installing traffic signals and safety signage in accident-prone zones.
Society Access Solutions: Societies with steep slopes or island-like surfaces at their entrances will receive special attention. PCMC engineers assured that exit space and footpath connectivity will be provided.
Weekly Market Encroachment: The issue of vendors occupying footpaths during weekly markets was raised as a major concern for pedestrian movement and safety.
Land Possession Updates: PCMC provided updates on land acquisition processes affecting the road project.

“Residents deserve better civic planning and faster execution. We welcome PCMC’s engagement, but now we need clear outcomes on the ground,” said Sachin Londhe, Vice President, Pimpri-Chinchwad Society Federation, who has been consistently coordinating with authorities and rallying housing societies to present a united front.

Next Action Steps:

A consolidated letter summarizing all demands and suggestions will be shared with PCMC.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled shortly to monitor the implementation and ensure accountability.

This meeting marks a continued push by residents, with strong leadership from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Society Federation, to bring lasting improvements to Wakad’s infrastructure challenges.
