In a major development in the Zubeen Garg death case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police has filed a massive 3,500-page chargesheet in the Guwahati court, giving a new direction to the investigation. With seven people arrested, the case has taken a serious turn as new revelations about the singer’s mysterious death come to light.
The chargesheet is one of the largest documents prepared in this case, containing over 300 witness statements, forensic reports, digital evidence, and all crucial information related to the incident. The SIT has included sections related to murder and criminal conspiracy. The chargesheet was filed after three months of investigation.
The SIT, led by CID Special DG Munna Prasad Gupta, submitted all critical documents to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Guwahati.
What Happened to Zubeen Garg?
Renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg died on 19 September 2025 while swimming in Singapore. He was there as the Cultural Brand Ambassador for the North East India Festival. Before the festival began, he went on a yacht trip reportedly arranged by members of the Assam Association Singapore. He lost consciousness during the trip and was later declared dead.

All of whom are currently in judicial custody.
