Seattle, November 3:
In a shocking move, Amazon has laid off nearly 14,000 employees worldwide as part of a new corporate restructuring strategy aimed at “enhancing management efficiency and innovation.”

What startled many was the way employees were informed. According to reports, several workers received two messages early in the morning — one asking them to check their official email before coming to work, and another containing details of their termination and HR contact information.

Moments later, employees discovered that their office access cards were deactivated, effectively barring them from entering Amazon offices.

The company stated that the decision was made to “streamline operations and focus on high-impact areas,” but the abrupt communication style has sparked widespread criticism across the tech world.

This latest layoff wave adds to the growing list of job cuts across the global tech industry in 2025, with companies such as Google, Meta, and Microsoft also reducing headcount to adapt to economic uncertainties and AI-driven automation.
