JEE Main 2026: NTA Issues Correction — Calculator Use Strictly Prohibited in Exam!
After an error in the previous bulletin, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that no physical or on-screen calculator will be allowed during the JEE Main 2026 exam. The agency has also apologized for the misinformation.
New Delhi, November 3:
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important clarification regarding the JEE Main 2026 examination. The agency confirmed that no type of calculator — physical or on-screen — will be allowed during the exam.
Earlier, an official bulletin had incorrectly stated that an on-screen standard calculator would be available during the Computer-Based Test (CBT). NTA has now corrected this typographical error and uploaded the revised information bulletin on its official website.
According to the revised document, the mention of an on-screen calculator referred to a general testing platform feature and does not apply to JEE Main. The agency stated —
“No calculator of any form (physical or virtual) will be permitted during JEE Main 2026. The earlier reference was a typographical error and stands corrected.”
The NTA has also apologized for the confusion caused by the earlier version of the document.
Students are advised to download the updated bulletin and check the latest announcements only on NTA’s official websites — nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in.
