#UNCLOGHinjawadiITPark: MLA Mahesh Landge Urges Chief Minister for Meeting on Municipal Corporation Expansion!
Demand made by BJP MLA Mahesh Landge : Suggests meeting with NGOs and public representatives

Pimpri-Chinchwad | To discuss the expansion of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits, and the possible inclusion of Chakan, Alandi, and Rajgurunagar municipal councils into a new, independent municipal corporation, BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to convene a detailed meeting with NGOs, public representatives, and urban development experts.
An official letter in this regard has been sent to CM Fadnavis, where MLA Landge has emphasized the necessity of holding in-depth consultations with local NGOs, elected representatives, experts, and citizen organizations from the concerned areas.

In his letter, MLA Landge mentioned that the state government has shown willingness to include seven villages — Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji, Jambe, Nere, Sangawade, and Gahunje — into the PCMC limits, as reported in the media. Considering the rapid influx of IT companies, increasing population, and lack of basic civic amenities in the region, the inclusion of these areas into the PCMC is crucial. Additionally, a signature campaign titled #UnclogHinjawadiITPark has also been launched by IT professionals, further intensifying the demand for inclusion of Hinjawadi and nearby areas into the municipal corporation.
On the other hand, PCMC in its report to the government has stated that the corporation is already under pressure to deliver services due to increased geographical area. Therefore, there should be no objection to developing Chakan, Alandi, and Rajgurunagar as a separate, independent municipal corporation. MLA Landge pointed out that the entire area falls under the jurisdiction of the PMRDA, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis currently serving as its chairman. Under his leadership, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune regions have the potential to become a role model for sustainable development.
In light of this, MLA Landge has humbly requested that a detailed meeting be organized soon to discuss the municipal expansion and the formation of a new municipal corporation.
Reaction:
“Considering the rapid expansion of the Pimpri-Chinchwad area, increasing population, growing number of IT companies, and rising demands for basic public services, the decision to expand municipal limits is absolutely necessary for planned development. Including Hinjawadi and adjacent villages within the municipal corporation will accelerate growth and make government services more accessible to residents. Furthermore, developing Chakan, Alandi, and Rajgurunagar into an independent municipal corporation will also ensure holistic growth of those areas. We have requested Hon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to convene a meeting with NGOs, public representatives, and experts to discuss the matter in detail. We are confident that this meeting will gather all perspectives and help shape the right course of action and decisions.”
