Actress and environmental activist Dia Mirza has strongly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video message on the ongoing NEET paper leak controversy, saying it failed to acknowledge the pain of grieving families and students who have been protesting across the country.

The criticism comes after the Prime Minister addressed students through a video message amid nationwide protests demanding accountability over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. Following Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Dia Mirza has now voiced her disappointment through a social media post that has sparked widespread debate online.
‘Not Even a Word of Empathy’
In her Instagram post, Dia Mirza said the Prime Minister’s message did not include a single word of sympathy for parents who lost their children, students who died, or the young people who have been protesting for justice.
She also mentioned education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk and other students who observed weeks-long hunger strikes in support of the movement, saying their sacrifices were completely ignored in the Prime Minister’s address.
‘It Took You 47 Days to Speak’
Dia Mirza questioned the delay in the Prime Minister’s response, saying it took 47 days for him to address the issue.
“Sir, was it really so difficult? It took you 47 days to speak. Even after finally addressing the nation, you did not offer a single sentence that could comfort the millions of broken hearts,” she wrote.
Her remarks quickly gained attention on social media, with many users supporting her views while others defended the Prime Minister’s stand.
NEET Controversy Continues to Trigger National Debate
The NEET paper leak controversy has led to protests by students across India, raising serious concerns over examination transparency, accountability, and the future of aspiring medical students.
During the movement, education activist Sonam Wangchuk also staged a hunger strike in solidarity with students before ending it following discussions with the Central Government.
Meanwhile, political leaders, social activists, and celebrities continue to react to the Prime Minister’s video message, with several voices demanding stronger government action and greater sensitivity towards affected students and their families.
