Census 2027 Self-Registration Starts May 1
PCMC urges citizens to complete online self-enumeration for accurate city planning

Pimpri, April 30, 2026: Preparations for Census 2027, a crucial exercise forming the backbone of India’s development planning, have gained momentum in Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has appealed to citizens, along with government and private sector employees, to actively participate in this nationwide initiative.
This year, the census process emphasizes accurate, transparent, and reliable data collection, with a strong focus on the Self-Enumeration (online registration) facility. Citizens can fill in their details online from May 1 to May 15, 2026, by visiting the official portal se.census.gov.in. Authorities have highlighted that the process is simple, fast, and secure, encouraging maximum participation.

Following the online phase, enumerators will conduct door-to-door visits from May 16 to June 14, 2026, to collect and verify information. Citizens are requested to cooperate during these visits to ensure smooth execution of the census process.
Officials emphasized that census data plays a vital role in urban planning, infrastructure development, and policy-making. The self-enumeration facility not only saves time but also improves data accuracy, making citizen participation even more critical.
