Pimpri, Pune | The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has initiated a doorstep distribution drive for property tax bills for the financial year 2026–27. The initiative is being carried out through women’s self-help groups, aiming to ensure timely delivery of tax bills to every property owner across the city.

Appealing to citizens for cooperation, Mayor Ravi Landge stated that the campaign is designed to streamline tax collection while making civic services more accessible. The civic body has entrusted the responsibility of bill distribution to women’s groups, which have successfully handled similar tasks over the past three years.

Currently, Pimpri-Chinchwad has approximately 744,630 registered properties, including residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use, and vacant plots. Ongoing property surveys are expected to increase this number to nearly 800,000. The municipal administration has planned to complete 100% distribution of tax bills within a stipulated timeframe.

In addition to delivering bills, the campaign will also focus on updating citizens’ mobile numbers, spreading awareness about tax-related procedures, and offering guidance for smooth compliance. Property owners with pending dues will receive pre-seizure notices along with their bills, giving them an opportunity to clear outstanding amounts on time.

The initiative also promotes women’s empowerment. More than 600 women from self-help group federations are participating under the ‘Saksham’ project, implemented jointly by the Social Development Department and Tata Strive. The use of the ‘Siddhi’ mobile application has further enhanced the process, making bill distribution faster, more transparent, and digitally streamlined.

PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi emphasized that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to citizen-centric governance. “This is not just about tax collection but also about strengthening communication between citizens and the administration while empowering women economically,” he said.

Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor highlighted that the corporation is consistently working towards providing transparent and technology-driven services. Deputy Commissioner Sachin Pawar urged citizens to update their contact details and pay taxes on time to avail benefits and avoid penalties.

The civic body has called upon residents to respond positively to the initiative and ensure timely payment of property taxes, contributing to the city’s development and efficient governance.
