Global Protests Erupt Against Donald Trump; ‘No Kings’ Campaign Gains Momentum Across US and Europe
Millions join rallies opposing Iran war and Trump policies; massive demonstrations held from Minnesota to major European cities

No Kings Rally Against Donald Trump: On Saturday, hundreds of thousands of people across the United States and Europe took to the streets to demonstrate against the war in Iran and the policies of President Donald Trump, participating in a series of “No Kings” rallies. The epicenter of this protest movement was Minnesota, where organizers had estimated a turnout of hundreds of thousands of participants. Thousands of people stood shoulder-to-shoulder on the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul and on the surrounding streets. Some protesters held American flags upside down—a gesture historically recognized as a signal of distress.
Performance by Bruce Springsteen
The highlight of the event was a performance by the renowned singer Bruce Springsteen. He performed his song, “Streets of Minneapolis.” Springsteen had written the song to protest the killings of Rani Good and Alex Pretty by federal agents, and to honor the residents of Minnesota who had taken to the streets to oppose the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration policies. Springsteen declared, “Your tenacity has proven that this is still America, and we will not tolerate this nightmare.”

Criticism from the Ruling Party
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson termed these demonstrations the “product of a left-wing network,” asserting that they lacked genuine public support. The National Republican Congressional Committee also criticized the events, labeling them “Hate America Rallies.”
Diverse Demands
The demonstrators presented a comprehensive list of demands. Primarily, this list included calls to end the war in Iran, opposition to Trump’s immigration policies, and a rejection of the curtailment of transgender rights. At the main event held in Minnesota, alongside Springsteen, prominent figures such as Joan Baez, Jane Fonda, and Senator Bernie Sanders participated.
These protests have significantly heated up the political climate in the United States, clearly highlighting the growing discontent against the Trump administration.
