Elections Announced for 29 Municipal Corporations Including Mumbai; Polling on January 15, Results on January 16

Mumbai:
The State Election Commission held a press conference today and made a major announcement. The Commission has declared elections for 29 Municipal Corporations across the state. The election schedule for municipal corporations including Mumbai and Thane has been officially announced.

According to State Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare, polling for all 29 municipal corporations will be held on January 15, while the election results will be declared on January 16.

Election Schedule Details:

• Nomination filing period: December 23 to December 30

• Scrutiny of nomination papers: December 31, 2025

• Last date for withdrawal of candidature: January 2, 2026

• Allotment of election symbols and publication of final candidate list: January 3, 2026

• Polling date: January 15, 2026

• Counting of votes and declaration of results: January 16, 2026
