The Mahayuti government has gone into ‘action mode’ to address traffic congestion and improve basic infrastructure in the Chakan industrial area. A joint meeting of all concerned departments is scheduled on July 30 in Mumbai in the presence of Public Works Minister Shivrendra Sinhraje Bhosale and Industries Minister Uday Samant. The Chakan industrial sector is closely watching this development.
To draw the state government’s attention to the serious issues of traffic congestion and lack of infrastructure in the Chakan industrial area, BJP MLA Mahesh Landge took the initiative. Last week, representatives from various industrial associations met with him and demanded a detailed “action plan” during a discussion with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. MLA Landge then began regular follow-up with the Chief Minister’s office.
Following the directions of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the meeting of all concerned departments has now been scheduled in the presence of the PWD Minister. Strategic decisions are expected to be taken in this meeting. During the last monsoon session, MLAs from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad had raised their voices, bringing attention to the problems in Chakan and other industrial areas.
This meeting will be attended by key officials and representatives such as: Additional Chief Secretary, PWD; Secretary (Roads), PWD; Chief Engineer, MSIDC; Chief Engineer, PWD Regional Division, Pune; Chief Engineer, MIDC, Pune; Project Director, NHAI, Pune; Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pimpri-Chinchwad; Chief Officers of Chakan/Talegaon Municipal Councils.
“We are not just supporting the ‘UNCLOG_Chakan_MIDC’ campaign but are actively pursuing the resolution of traffic congestion and related issues in Chakan. Just as the BJP-Mahayuti government under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis is working to resolve the Hinjawadi IT Park issues, we are committed to addressing the challenges in Chakan’s industrial area as well.”
— Mahesh Landge, BJP MLA, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune
