Pimpri-Chinchwad:While presenting the Maharashtra State Budget 2026-27, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has focused special attention on the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR). The budget has emphasized on providing metro lines, elevated road network and industrial and economic opportunities for the overall development of Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and the surrounding areas.
BJP leader and MLA Mahesh Landge, while welcoming these developmental measures, said, “The Maharashtra Budget 2026-27 is not just a financial document, but a roadmap towards ‘Developed Maharashtra 2047’. It is clear that these policies dedicated to metropolitan areas like Pune-Pimpri-Chinchwad and rural areas have ensured the all-round development of the state.
“The all-round development of the Pune Metropolitan Region will bring about improvements in the daily lives of its citizens. This will give impetus to all sectors like employment, industry, technology, infrastructure and social welfare. Chief Minister Fadnavis’ focus on PMR is of utmost importance for the future of the city. We fully support this roadmap and will strive to ensure the best benefits for the citizens of Pune. MLA Landge has also expressed confidence that the state government is working on issues such as Shrikshetra Alandi pilgrimage site, Jagadgaguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Janmasthan Dehu development plan, Bhimashankar pilgrimage site development, traffic empowerment in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, pollution control, water resources from a sustainable perspective.

This budget has also emphasized various industrial projects in the state, women and farmer welfare, technology and new industry promotion, as well as social welfare schemes. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also announced in this budget to build a grand memorial as a tribute to the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar and to start a dynamic civil service award in his name. The proposal to build an ”Ajitsruthi and Memorial” in Pimpri-Chinchwad has been approved by the municipal administration. MLA Landge has also said that the Chief Minister’s announcement will give him strength.
“This budget will be a new dynamic roadmap for the development of the Pune Metropolitan Region. With the special focus of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the efforts of the state government, the citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, including rural areas, will get sustainable benefits in all sectors of employment, industry, infrastructure and social welfare.
