Model Eco-Friendly Initiatives Highlighted on Republic Day; Flag Hoisted by PCMC Deputy Commissioner Kishor Nanaware

Pimpri-Chinchwad:On the auspicious occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, Royal Castle Society located in Thergaon, under Ward No. 24 of the ‘G’ Regional Office of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), celebrated the day with great enthusiasm by organising various eco-friendly initiatives on January 26, 2026.

The programme commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Regional Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shri Kishor Nanaware. Following the flag hoisting, residents paid tribute to the national flag by singing the National Anthem. Office bearers, society members, staff, and residents were present in large numbers.

On this occasion, the newly implemented Grey Water Recycling Project at Royal Castle Society was inaugurated by Shri Nanaware by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. This project will significantly contribute to water conservation through the reuse of wastewater and stands as an important step towards environmental protection.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Kishor Nanaware praised the consistent eco-friendly efforts of Royal Castle Society. He stated that societies implementing comprehensive environmental initiatives are awarded a 5-Star Society Rating by PCMC and expressed confidence that Royal Castle Society would soon achieve this recognition. He also extended his best wishes to the society for their continued commitment to sustainability.

  • Solid Waste Management and Composting Project

  • Rainwater Harvesting System

  • Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)

  • Grey Water Recycling Project

  • Solar Energy Generation System

PCMC grants a 5-Star Rating to societies that successfully implement such integrated environmental initiatives.

Support from Municipal Officials

The society expressed sincere gratitude to PCMC officials, including Health Inspector Ms. Snehal Sukte, Mukadam Mr. Prashant Gothe, and Mukadam Mr. Pradeep Sonawane, for their valuable support in the successful execution of these initiatives.

Property Tax Rebate for Green Initiatives

PCMC offers property tax rebates to housing societies and individual homeowners who adopt eco-friendly practices. Effective implementation of rainwater harvesting, composting, solar energy, and STP projects qualifies for rebates on General Property Tax. Societies implementing multiple initiatives can receive combined tax rebates ranging from 10% to 15%.
