Pran Pratishtha of Shri Goveshwar Devasthan Held in Old Goa on Mahashivratri

Old Goa | The Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Goveshwar Devasthan at Ramanandacharya Dakshinpeeth Uppeeth in Old Goa marked an important spiritual milestone in Goa on the occasion of Mahashivratri. The ceremony was held in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Shri Narendracharya Maharaj Ji.

The consecration ceremony was performed as per Vedic tradition, with sacred chanting and abhishek ceremonies reflecting the rich spiritual heritage of the state. A unique feature of the devasthan is that devotees can have darshan of all the twelve Jyotirlingas at one place. The occasion also had deep cultural significance, as over 300 families publicly reaffirmed their faith in Sanatan Hinduism, a moment of spiritual reunion and renewed commitment to tradition.

Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that the inauguration of Shri Goveshwar Devasthan on Mahashivratri is a symbol of Goa’s deep spiritual foundation and cultural continuity. He noted that the establishment of twelve Jyotirlingas at one place is a matter of pride for every Goan and this sacred initiative will be remembered for generations in the history of the state, strengthening devotion, unity and spiritual awakening. The Chief Minister further said that despite facing cultural and religious challenges in the past, the people of Goa have protected their faith, temples and traditions. He acknowledged the significant role played by spiritual leaders like Jagadguru Shri Narendracharya Maharaj Ji in safeguarding Sanatan Dharma and guiding the society through service, social reform and spiritual awakening.

The function was attended by the Hon’ble Governor of Goa Shri Ashok Gajapati Raju, Kanifnath Nath Maharaj Ji, Designated successor of Ramanandacharya Math, along with devotees and spiritual leaders of the sect from across the country. It was a ceremony filled with devotion and enthusiasm.
