Election of Pimpri-Chinchwad Cooperative Housing Societies Federation conducted peacefully; Former President Dattatray Deshmukh shows generosity in promoting an unopposed election

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Representative: The election of the Managing Committee of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Cooperative Housing Societies Federation was conducted peacefully and enthusiastically. The official results of the election were announced by the authorized officer Vilas Limbale. Notably, the outgoing President Dattatray Deshmukh conveyed a message advocating for an unopposed election by withdrawing his nomination. However, since 14 nominations were received for 11 seats, voting had to be conducted.
The election for the Federation Committee was held for the term 2026 to 2031. A total of 11 members were elected from the general category. Overall, 27 votes were cast, all of which were declared valid, with no invalid votes recorded. A special general body meeting was held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM, during which the voting process was completed and the results were announced. The election process was carried out transparently and in accordance with the rules.

Representatives from various housing societies participated in the election. Authorized officer Vilas Limbale has submitted a detailed report of the election and minutes of the meeting to the Divisional Cooperative Election Officer and Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Pune City (3). With this election, the organization will receive new leadership for the next five years, and an atmosphere of satisfaction was observed among the members.
The allocation of positions in the new executive committee will be finalized within the next two to three days. The newly elected members have pledged that the Federation will remain committed to fighting for the rights of society members in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Despite the Election, We Will Work United..!
All members made efforts to ensure that the Federation election would be unopposed. However, 16 nominations were filed for 11 seats. Senior members initiated discussions to reach a consensus and conduct an unopposed election. Former President Dattatray Deshmukh took the lead by withdrawing his own nomination and suggested that an unopposed election would send a positive message. Out of 16 nominations, two were withdrawn. However, since three nominations remained in excess, conducting the election became unavoidable. Eventually, the election officer decided to proceed with voting. The voting process was completed, and the list of 11 candidates who secured the highest votes was announced. It has been proposed that those members who could not be elected may be appointed as expert/advisory members of the Federation. All present members unanimously agreed to work in unity and strengthen the functioning of the Federation and serve the interests of society members effectively.
