DPU Pimpri to Host 17th Convocation Ceremony Tomorrow
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to Grace Grand Convocation; Over 18,720 Students to Receive Degrees at DPU Pimpri

Pimpri-Chinchwad: The 17th Convocation Ceremony of Dr. D. Y. Patil University will be held on Saturday (May 9) at 3:30 PM in the university auditorium. Union Minister for Communications and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia will attend the event as the chief guest.
The ceremony will be presided over by Chancellor Dr. P. D. Patil. On this occasion, Dr. (Brig.) Amarjit Singh and Dr. A. L. Kakarani will be honoured with the honorary degree of ‘Doctor of Science’ for their remarkable contribution to the fields of medical and educational excellence.
During the convocation ceremony, 30 meritorious students from various faculties will be awarded gold medals for their outstanding academic performance. A total of 18,720 students will receive degrees, including 48 Ph.D. degrees, 16,752 postgraduate degrees, 1,905 undergraduate degrees and 15 diploma certificates. These students belong to nine different faculties of the university.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Mrs. Bhagyashree P. Patil, Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Vice Chancellor Dr. N. J. Pawar, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Mrs. Smita Jadhav, Trustee and Treasurer Dr. Yashraj P. Patil, along with several dignitaries, professors, students and parents, will remain present for the ceremony.
According to Registrar Dr. J. S. Bhawalkar, the convocation ceremony will also be streamed live on the university’s official website.
