Various Activities at Science Park on the Occasion of “National Space Day”
Special Programs for Science Enthusiasts on 23rd August Including Lecture, Moon Walk, Make & Take

Pimpri Chinchwad | On the occasion of ‘National Space Day,’ the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Science Park and Planetarium, in collaboration with the Science Education Trust, ISRO-SPPU ST, and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (Pune), will celebrate the event on 23rd August 2025. Various activities have been organized at the Municipal Corporation’s Science Park on this occasion.
This year’s theme for National Space Day is “Aryabhatta to Gaganyaan – Ancient Knowledge to Infinite Possibilities.” The event will highlight India’s journey in space research and its bright future. Accordingly, various activities will take place at Science Park on 23rd August 2025. From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, different sessions will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (Pune).
A special activity called ‘Virtual Reality Moon Walk’ has been organized to give citizens an experience of walking on the moon. Under the ‘Make & Take’ initiative, participants can create space-related models themselves.
A lecture by senior ISRO scientist A. K. Sinha on the topic ‘India Into Space – ISRO Towards National Prosperity’ will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Planetarium Auditorium. A. K. Sinha has worked at ISRO for 36 years and has made a significant contribution to India’s space research. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to students and citizens to take maximum benefit of this program.
