Pimpri-Chinchwad | Correspondent । ‘Traffic Friend’ awareness sessions are being conducted in societies in Punawale and Wakad under the initiative of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate and Wakad Traffic Department. As part of this initiative, police officers are teaching residents how to use the ‘Traffic Buddy’ chatbot.

Under the leadership of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Housing Society Federation, these sessions have been successfully held in six societies so far, including Rhythm, Western Avenue, Akshar Elementa, Sanskruti, and Kalpataru Harmony. Police officials stated that the ‘Traffic Buddy’ chatbot is simple and effective; complaints can be lodged in a matter of seconds via WhatsApp at +91 8788649885.

In the program organized at D.S.K. Kunjban Society in Punawale, Wakad Traffic Department’s Assistant Police Inspector Madhukar Thorat, Police Constable Kapil Sable, and Pimpri-Chinchwad Society Federation Vice President Sachin Londhe guided residents on traffic rules compliance and accident prevention.

The society’s Chairman, Adhikarrao Dive-Patil, Secretary Nilesh Kale, Deputy Treasurer Sanjay Thorat, Cultural Committee Vice President Pramod Patil, Executive Members Yatin Khandelwal and Shriram Patil were also present. During the program, residents asked questions and had their doubts clarified by the police. Many residents immediately started using the ‘Traffic Buddy’ chatbot on their mobiles and participated in the initiative. Against the backdrop of rising accidents in the Tathawade–Punawale area, attendees expressed their determination to be more vigilant about traffic safety.

The program was anchored by Executive Committee member Vidya Joshi, while Manager Shridhar Panhalkar and Mehtab Momin played key roles in planning.

“Following traffic rules significantly reduces the risk of accidents. The ‘Traffic Buddy’ chatbot is a very convenient tool for citizens; obstacles, accidents, or other issues on the roads can be reported to the police in just a few seconds via mobile. We are encouraging residents to use these facilities so that Wakad and Punawale areas remain safe.”
