Pimpri-Chinchwad | The proposal to publish the draft ward structure of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and to invite objections has received final approval from the State Election Commission. The draft notification of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has been published today (22nd) on the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s website and at the main office. Citizens have been given an opportunity to submit objections until 4th September.

As per the decision of the Supreme Court, the elections for the local self-government bodies in the state will be held in the coming months. Since the elections of the local self-government bodies, which were scheduled to be held in 2017, are now being conducted, there is tremendous curiosity among former corporators as well as aspirants. Speculation was rife regarding how the ward structure would be.

After the approval from the Commission, the maps of the draft ward structure have been published today (22nd), and objections and suggestions will be accepted until 4th September 2025. Meanwhile, the new ward structure is as per the February 2017 elections. There is a possibility that the code of conduct for municipal elections may come into effect after Diwali, between December and January.

Objections can be filed till 4th September
Citizens can submit objections for the draft ward structure till 4th September.
Hearings on the objections will be held between 5th and 12th September.
The final ward structure, along with modifications, will be presented between 13th and 15th September, after which the final ward structure will be published.
