Pune |  Until now, 5,65,000 solar agricultural pumps have been installed across the state under various schemes. To ensure quick action in case of breakdowns, damage, or other complaints after the use of solar pumps, MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd) has now provided farmers the facility to register complaints through a mobile app.

Previously, farmers had three options for filing complaints—filling out a complaint form on MSEDCL’s official website, lodging a complaint on the supplier company’s website, or calling the toll-free number. In addition to these, farmers can now directly submit their complaints via MSEDCL’s mobile app.

Rising Use of the Mobile App

The MSEDCL app has become popular among electricity consumers in the state, who use it extensively for services such as viewing and paying electricity bills, submitting meter readings, reporting electricity theft, or informing about faulty transformers. Now, a new feature titled “Solar Pump Complaint” has been added to the same app.

Things to Keep in Mind While Registering a Complaint

While registering a complaint, farmers must accurately mention the solar agricultural pump beneficiary number or the registered mobile number. Complaints can be filed regarding any of the following issues:

  • Pump not starting

  • Technical damage to the solar panel

  • Power unit not functioning

  • Low water pressure from the pump

  • Theft of solar panels or pumps

Farmers can lodge complaints about any such problems.

Maintenance and Service Period

Each solar pump set is insured, and the supplier company will be responsible for its maintenance and repair for five years after installation.

Time Limit for Resolution and Service Center

Once a complaint is registered, it must be resolved within three days. Additionally, it has been made mandatory for each supplier company to establish a service center in the district where the pump has been installed. Once the complaint is resolved, the farmer will receive a message on their mobile phone. The entire process will be monitored by the Superintendent Engineer of the respective division.
