Continuous Rain in Pavana Dam Area… Pavana Dam Filled up to 97.45%
800 cusecs of water to be released at 2 PM
Pimpri Chinchwad | Pavana Dam is filled up to 99.14%, and currently, a total discharge of 2130 cusecs is being released into the riverbed. Out of this, 1400 cusecs is being released through the hydropower plant, and 730 cusecs through the spillway.
As continuous rainfall is occurring in the Pavana Dam catchment area, from 9 AM today (19th), the spillway discharge will be increased to 1460 cusecs. Hence, the total discharge into the riverbed may rise to 2860 cusecs.
The Water Resources Department has clarified that the discharge from the dam will be regulated step by step depending on the intensity of rainfall. Citizens living along the Pavana riverbank have been appealed to take necessary precautions and to cooperate with the administration.
