Three Killed as Private Plane Crashes During Takeoff in Australia
Tragic crash at Shellharbour Airport near Sydney; Aircraft engulfed in flames shortly after takeoff
Sydney: A tragic incident occurred in New South Wales, Australia, where a private aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff and burst into flames, killing all three people on board. The accident took place at Shellharbour Airport, located approximately 85 kilometers south of Sydney, around 10 AM today.
According to reports, the plane had just taken off when it suddenly plummeted to the ground and caught fire. Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) units quickly responded to the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze. However, due to the intensity of the fire, none of the occupants could be rescued.
Inspector Andrew Barber from FRNSW stated that members of the local Rural Fire Service (RFS) unit were present at the airport for training at the time of the crash. One of them witnessed the incident and rushed to provide assistance, but the rapid ignition of fuel made rescue impossible. The aircraft was completely destroyed in the fire.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.
