TCS Conversion Case: Nida Khan Arrested After 25 Days
Main accused Nida Khan, absconding since March 25 in the alleged TCS conversion and abuse case, was finally arrested in a late-night joint police operation from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Nashik: In a major breakthrough in the high-profile TCS conversion and abuse case that has sparked massive outrage across Maharashtra, the Nashik Crime Branch on Thursday night arrested main accused Nida Khan after nearly 25 days on the run. She was detained during a joint operation conducted by Nashik Crime Branch and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police from the Naregaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
According to police sources, Nida Khan had been hiding in a flat at Kaiser Colony and was frequently changing locations to avoid arrest. Investigators revealed that four of her relatives were also staying with her and allegedly helping her evade police action. Despite receiving repeated location inputs, police teams failed to trace her earlier as she constantly shifted hideouts.
The accused had been absconding since March 25 after the controversial TCS conversion case surfaced in Nashik. Multiple police teams were deployed to track her movements while investigators simultaneously examined her digital activity, communication records and alleged connections with individuals from Malegaon and even Malaysia.

Late Thursday night around 11:30 PM, police teams finally cornered and arrested her during a coordinated raid. Soon after the arrest, she was taken for a medical examination and later produced before a court in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for transit remand formalities. She is now being brought to Nashik where she will be produced before the local court for further proceedings.
Earlier, Nida Khan had attempted to secure interim bail from the Nashik court. However, on May 2, 2026, the court rejected her plea, giving a major boost to the police investigation. During the in-camera hearing held on April 29, SIT officials strongly opposed any relief for the accused. Investigating officer Sandeep Mitke informed the court that the accused allegedly tried to influence the victim towards specific religious practices, forced downloading of religious applications and shared multiple links connected to the case.
Police are now probing the larger network behind the operation, including who helped the accused escape for weeks, whether more individuals are involved and if there are any foreign connections linked to the case. Following her arrest, intense discussions erupted on social media, with many reacting strongly to the first photo of Nida Khan released after her detention.
Officials believe the interrogation could expose several crucial details related to the alleged conversion network and digital evidence connected to the case.
