Mumbai — Once Bollywood’s most talked-about pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are coming together again after years of speculation about their strained relationship. Putting all rumours to rest, reports confirm that the duo will reunite for Ayan Mukerji’s next romantic-drama film, produced under the RK Films banner.

Ayan Mukerji, who is a close friend of Ranbir, is set to direct this project following the success of Brahmastra. Sources reveal that the film explores the complexities of modern relationships — balancing love, identity, and responsibility — and Deepika has already given her nod to the script.

Interestingly, this film will also mark Ranbir Kapoor’s directorial debut, reviving his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s iconic RK Studios, which produced classics like Awara (1951), Mera Naam Joker (1970), and Bobby (1973). The studio’s last production was Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999).

The story is reportedly co-written by Ayan Mukerji and Konkona Sen Sharma, and will be set in the United States, focusing on a married couple navigating love and life’s challenges. The shoot is expected to begin by Diwali 2026, following the relaunch of RK Films in December 2025.

Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is busy with Ramayana and Brahmastra 2, while Deepika Padukone is working on King and other upcoming projects.
