Pathardi Bus Theft:
A shocking case of theft has been reported from the Pathardi–Kalyan ST bus route, where the wife of a police inspector was robbed of gold ornaments and cash during her journey. The incident came to light after the victim, Alka Mukund Palve (39), a resident of Deorai, Pathardi and currently residing in Navi Mumbai, lodged a complaint with the Pathardi Police.

According to the FIR, the incident occurred on November 19 at around 3:30 PM when Palve boarded an ST bus from the new Pathardi bus stand to Kalyan. An unknown woman, described as fair-skinned with a tattoo of an almond-shaped arrow on her left hand, sat beside her. The woman’s behaviour during the journey appeared suspicious.

The suspect reportedly alighted at Tisgaon, and shortly after, Palve checked her purse only to discover that her gold jewellery and cash were missing. Shocked, she immediately informed the bus conductor and got off at Karanji to search for the suspect by hiring a private vehicle. However, the woman could not be traced.

Details of Stolen Valuables

The stolen property includes jewellery weighing around 10 tolas along with ₹1.5 lakh in cash. The list of missing ornaments as mentioned in the complaint includes:

  • 2 tola gold jhumkas

  • 5-gram gold earrings

  • 2-tola traditional mani-mangalsutra

  • 2-tola two-strand mani-mangalsutra

  • 3 tola gold rings (three rings)

  • 5-gram small mani-mangalsutra

  • Cash amounting to ₹1,50,000

The total value of the stolen property is estimated to be several lakhs.

Police have begun investigations and are scanning CCTV footage from Pathardi, Karanji, and Tisgaon areas to identify the suspect. Further details are awaited.
