According to Wakad Police, the alleged abuse took place between May 2026 and July 27, 2026, targeting two sisters aged 10 and 4 years residing with their family in the Tathawade locality.
Police said the horrifying case came to light after one of the girls repeatedly complained of severe stomach pain, prompting her family to question the children. During the conversation, the sisters allegedly revealed the repeated sexual abuse, exposing the shocking crime.
Investigators stated that the accused was aware that the victims belonged to a Scheduled Caste community, and the complaint alleges that the offence was committed despite this knowledge, leading to additional charges under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Following the incident, angry relatives and local residents gathered outside Wakad Police Station on Sunday night, demanding immediate and strict action against the accused. Police subsequently detained and arrested the suspect.
A case has been registered at Wakad Police Station as Crime No. 376/2026 under Sections 64(2), 65(2), 74, 76, and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Sections 4, 6, 8, and 12 of the POCSO Act, and Section 3(2)(v)(va) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case.
