PUNE : In a significant boost to the industrial landscape of Western Maharashtra, the Federation of Chakan Industries (FCI) has announced a historic breakthrough in regional infrastructure. Following years of rigorous advocacy and strategic follow-ups, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has sanctioned a massive ₹361.62 Crore for the comprehensive development of ten critical road projects in the Chakan industrial belt.

A Result of Sustained Advocacy

The achievement marks the culmination of a long-standing pursuit by the Federation with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office, and PMRDA. The turning point occurred in August 2025, when a high-level delegation from the Federation facilitated an on-site inspection led by Hon. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Ajitdada Pawar.

Recognizing the gravity of the traffic congestion and its detrimental impact on industrial logistics, the Deputy Chief Minister had issued immediate directives to the concerned departments. Under his sensitive leadership, the administrative hurdles were cleared, funds were allocated, and the tender process was expedited.

Strategic Connectivity and Financial Layout

The project aims to modernize the internal and connecting arteries of the Chakan MIDC phases. Competent developers have already been appointed for the following sanctioned projects:
* Medankarwadi-Bangla Vasti to Kadachiwadi-Rase Phata: ₹111.75 Crore
* Western Bypass to NH-60 to MIDC Phase 5: ₹91.68 Crore
* Chakan-Alandi Phata to Alandi Road: ₹40.00 Crore
* Samruddhi CNG Pump NH-50 to SANY Company: ₹33.40 Crore
* Hingane Chowk to Sara City to MIDC Phase 3: ₹24.65 Crore
* Nighoje to Kuruli Phata: ₹15.50 Crore
* Chikhali to Moi Road: ₹13.42 Crore
* Khalumbre to MIDC Phase 2: ₹12.50 Crore
* Charholi to Alandi-Markal Road: ₹12.00 Crore
* Nighoje to MIDC Road: ₹6.72 Crore

Impact on Regional Growth

Work on these stretches is set to commence immediately. Once completed, these roads are expected to provide much-needed relief from chronic traffic bottlenecks, ensuring the seamless movement of industrial heavy vehicles and commuters alike.

Mr. Dilip Batwal, Chief Executive Officer of the Federation of Chakan Industries, hailed this development as a milestone for the region. “This is not just about laying asphalt; it is about providing a sustainable foundation for Chakan’s industrial and social future. This historic success belongs to the unity and vision of all our member industries who stood together for the betterment of this hub,” he stated.

Industry experts believe that this infrastructure upgrade will significantly lower logistical costs and attract further global investment to the Chakan-Talegaon industrial corridor, further cementing its reputation as a premier manufacturing destination.
