Kantara Chapter 1 Becomes 2025’s Biggest Blockbuster, Earns ₹369 Cr in Just 9 Days
Rishab Shetty's epic breaks multiple records; Surpasses most 2025 releases except ‘Chhava’ and ‘Saiyara’ in total collections

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 has emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025 so far, raking in a massive ₹369.04 crore across all languages within just 9 days of release. Including GST, the total gross collection has reached ₹424.5 crore.
Released on October 2, the film has made a thunderous impact at the Indian box office, performing exceptionally in Kannada and Hindi markets, and gaining strong traction in Telugu and Tamil regions as well.
Despite tough competition from big releases like Saiyara and Chhava, Kantara Chapter 1 has broken several box office records — even surpassing some of the top collections held by legends like Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan.
Strong Hold at the Box Office
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Kantara Chapter 1 continued its momentum into the second week with a solid Friday collection of ₹7.10 crore. The film’s second-week earnings now stand at ₹117.20 crore.
