During the inspection, the Chairman gathered detailed information on every stage of waste management. He reviewed how wet and dry waste collected from the city is gathered, how it is segregated at the center, and how it is scientifically processed and disposed of. Furthermore, he explicitly instructed the concerned officials to ensure optimal cleanliness is maintained within the waste collection center premises and surrounding areas.
Noting that the city is expanding rapidly and population is set to increase in the coming period, which will correspondingly raise waste generation, Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne clearly directed officials to formulate more robust and long-term planning for solid waste management right away. He stated that the municipal corporation’s emphasis lies on keeping the waste processing machinery increasingly dynamic and effective.
It is expressed with confidence that this visit will impart greater momentum to the operations of the municipal solid waste management department, greatly helping residents of the Thergaon and Kalewadi areas secure a clean, beautiful, and healthy environment.
