The Hindubhushan Sports Festival – 2025, organized to mark the 50th birthday of MLA Maheshdada Landge, has received an overwhelming response from citizens. Since the festival began on November 10, more than 10,000 athletes have registered across various sports categories.
District-level events including Mallakhamb, Karate, Shooting Ball, Kickboxing, Carrom, and state-level Swimming competitions were conducted with great enthusiasm. Cricket matches for men and women across different areas of Bhosari also witnessed a tremendous response.
One of the major highlights of this year’s festival is the much-talked-about Society Premier League, which has captured attention across the city. Even citizens above 40 took to the field with remarkable energy and passion.
The primary aim of organizing this festival is to provide a strong platform for local athletes from Pimpri-Chinchwad and to encourage them to compete at state, national, and international levels. The enthusiastic participation from Bhosari residents reflects a positive direction for local sports development, say sports enthusiasts.

MLA Mahesh Landge is celebrating his 50th birthday this year with several social initiatives. He has carved out a distinct identity in the fields of wrestling and bullock cart racing.
Be it the renowned ‘Maharashtra Kesari’ wrestling competition or the nation’s largest bullock cart race, both events have been successfully organized under his leadership.
He has developed international-standard wrestling and kabaddi complexes, a shooting range, and a badminton hall, making Pimpri-Chinchwad proud. His vision of transforming the city into a Sports City is progressing strongly, and the massive response to the Hindubhushan Sports Festival has strengthened this mission.
According to festival coordinator and national player Arun Padule, the sports extravaganza currently underway at various Bhosari grounds is expected to gain even more momentum in the coming days.
