In a major scientific breakthrough, Google’s DeepMind AI division has reportedly discovered a potential new method for cancer therapy. The revelation was made by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to share details about this revolutionary achievement in AI-driven medical research.

Pichai stated that the discovery was the result of a joint research effort between Google DeepMind and Yale University. The AI model, named C2S-Scale 27B — Gemma Base Foundation Model, has identified a possible new approach to understanding and treating cancer at the cellular level.

“An exciting milestone in AI science has been reached,” Pichai wrote. “Our Gamma-based C2S-Scale 27B model, developed with Yale, has generated a potential new therapy pathway based on cancer cellular behavior. The results have been experimentally verified in live cells.”

He further added that additional pre-clinical and clinical tests will be necessary before the therapy can move closer to real-world application.

“After further testing, this discovery could lead to a new, promising, and guided approach in the fight against cancer,” Pichai noted.
