Establishment of District and Additional Sessions Court for Pimpri-Chinchwad
Approval granted by the State Government Cabinet

Pimpri-Chinchwad | A historic step has been taken in the judicial landscape of Pimpri-Chinchwad city with the establishment of a District and Additional Sessions Court, as well as a Civil Court (Senior Division). The State Government Cabinet has also approved the necessary posts for these courts.
For many years, litigants and legal professionals in Pimpri-Chinchwad have been demanding the expansion of the city’s judicial infrastructure. BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has consistently followed up on this demand.
Although the Pimpri-Chinchwad Court was originally established on 1st March 1989, the issue of a dedicated building remained unresolved. Given the rapid growth of Pimpri-Chinchwad as an industrial and urban hub, the need for independent courts has been increasingly felt. Litigants and lawyers had to travel to Pune for legal matters, leading to unnecessary time and financial burden, and causing great inconvenience to common citizens.
Recognizing this need, MLA Mahesh Landge persistently pursued the matter with the Law and Judiciary Department, and this follow-up has now yielded success.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra Government has approved approximately 16 acres of land in Sector No. 14 at Borhade Wadi, Moshi, within the jurisdiction of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The foundation has now been laid for constructing a court complex at this site. The newly established District and Additional Sessions Court and the Civil Court (Senior Division) are being welcomed by legal professionals and litigants alike, as a positive step by the BJP-led Mahayuti Government.
A Boost to the City’s Judicial Standing!
With the establishment of the District and Additional Sessions Court and the Civil Court (Senior Division), litigants will no longer face inconvenience. Local lawyers will have new opportunities. The pace of judicial processes will increase. Pimpri-Chinchwad’s judicial stature will be elevated.
Statement:
“The establishment of the District and Additional Sessions Court and the Civil Court (Senior Division) is a victory for the people of Pimpri-Chinchwad and their right to justice. I sincerely thank Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Mahayuti Government. This court is not just a building; it will become a center of hope for thousands of citizens waiting for justice.”
– Mahesh Landge, MLA, BJP, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune.
