Dharmendra Health Update: Veteran Actor’s Condition Stable, Confirms Daughter Esha Deol
Bollywood legend Dharmendra, 89, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for the past 12 days; family urges privacy as he continues to recover.

Mumbai, India – Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, known for his iconic roles in Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Chupke Chupke, has been undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for the last 12 days. The 89-year-old actor was admitted on October 31 following age-related health complications.
Over the past two days, reports of his condition worsening began circulating, prompting concern across the film industry. Prominent Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, and Amisha Patel, visited the hospital to check on the veteran actor.
However, Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol has now clarified the situation, dismissing false rumors of his death. In a heartfelt post on social media, she wrote:
“My father’s health is stable and he is recovering. Please respect our family’s privacy. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for his speedy recovery.”
Earlier, Dharmendra’s wife, actress Hema Malini, also shared that his health was improving steadily.
Fans across the country have flooded social media with messages wishing the beloved “He-Man” of Bollywood a quick recovery.
Born on December 8, 1935, in Punjab, Dharmendra Singh Deol began his cinematic journey with the 1960 film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. Known for his versatility, he excelled in action, romance, and comedy films, earning immense popularity through the 1960s and 70s. His portrayal of Veeru in the 1975 classic Sholay remains one of the most celebrated performances in Indian cinema.
Over his illustrious career spanning more than 300 films, Dharmendra became one of the most loved stars in Indian film history. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2012 and has also received Filmfare Lifetime Achievement and National Film Awards for his contribution to cinema.
The actor continues to remain active in the industry. His upcoming films include Ikkis and Maine Pyaar Kiya Phir Se, which are yet to be released.
