Fuel Tanker Catches Fire Near Shevalwadi Chowk on Pune-Solapur Road; Driver Escapes by Jumping
Quick Response by Fire Brigade Prevents Major Disaster as Tanker Carrying Petrol and Diesel Catches Fire in Hadapsar Area

A fuel tanker carrying petrol and diesel caught fire near Shevalwadi Chowk on Pune-Solapur road on Monday morning around 9 AM, according to the fire brigade control room.
The tanker, loaded with 15,000 liters of diesel and 5,000 liters of petrol from the Loni Kalbhor depot, was heading towards Pune when the fire broke out. Upon receiving the information, fire brigade teams from Hadapsar, Kalepadal, B.T. Kawade Road, and Kharadi quickly reached the spot.
Firefighters swiftly doused the flames with water jets, successfully controlling the fire and averting a major disaster. The tanker driver escaped unharmed by jumping out immediately after the fire broke out.
Fire officials Pramod Sonawane, Nilesh Lonkar, Narayan Jagtap, Raju Shaikh, Shaukat Shaikh, Baba Chavan, Chandrakant Chavan, Ramdas Lad, and Avinash Dhakne led the rescue efforts.
Due to the quick and efficient response of the fire brigade, a large-scale accident was avoided, said Devendra Potphode, Chief Fire Officer.
