Major Disaster Averted Thanks to the Prompt Action of BJP City President and Corporator Shatrughna Kate!

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Correspondent: A potential major disaster loomed when a main power line suddenly snapped and fell into the riverbed near Murkute’s farm, adjacent to the Paras Riviera Society in the Pimple Saudagar area. However, a catastrophe was averted thanks to the prompt intervention of Corporator and BJP City President Shatrughna (Bapu) Kate and the immediate action taken by the concerned authorities.

Upon learning of the incident, Shatrughna Kate immediately contacted senior officials from Mahavitaran (state electricity utility) and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Fire Department to initiate rescue operations. Subsequently, the fire brigade, Mahavitaran officials and staff, a special rescue team, and a boat arrived at the scene. Recognizing the risk of significant loss of life should the electric current enter the river water, the power supply was first safely shut off. Then, exercising extreme caution and utilizing technical expertise, the main power line that had fallen into the riverbed was safely retrieved.

Throughout the operation, Shatrughna (Bapu) Kate personally monitored the situation at the site and maintained constant coordination with the various agencies involved. Corporators Mrs. Anitatai Kate and Mrs. Kundatai Bhise also maintained contact with the administration and provided the necessary follow-up for the rescue efforts. Local residents welcomed these timely decisions and the administration’s rapid response, expressing the view that a major tragedy was averted due to the effective coordination at the right moment.
