On the Occasion of the Anniversary of the All India Marathi Natya Parishad, Dignitaries to be Honored; Information Shared by Bhausaheb Bhoir in Press Conference

Chinchwad | The Pimpri-Chinchwad branch of the All India Marathi Natya Parishad completed 29 years on 9th August. The anniversary celebration of the Pimpri-Chinchwad branch will be held on 23rd August 2025. On this occasion, as every year, eminent personalities who have made remarkable contributions in the field of drama will be felicitated with awards named after stalwarts such as Late Bal Gandharva, Late Smita Patil, Late Acharya Atre, Late Arun Sarnaik, Late Jaywant Dalvi, etc. Along with this, local artists and various stage technicians from the city will also be honored with special awards, informed Bhausaheb Bhoir, President of the Pimpri-Chinchwad branch of the All India Marathi Natya Parishad, during a press conference today.

On this occasion, Suhas Joshi, Rajendra Bang, Santosh Rasane, Santosh Shinde, Gauri Londhe, Rupali Pathare, and other dignitaries were present.

Further speaking, Bhoir said that the Natya Parishad has always been undertaking cultural and social activities in Pimpri-Chinchwad city, contributing to the city’s cultural heritage. Till date, the branch has successfully organized two drama conventions, which has added to the prestige of Pimpri-Chinchwad city. This year too, on 23rd August 2025 at 5 pm, an award distribution ceremony will be organized at Prof. Ramkrishna More Auditorium, Chinchwad, on the occasion of the branch’s 29th anniversary. On this occasion, the awards will be presented at the hands of Maharashtra State Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar. Also, Ashok Hande, Trustee of the Central Organization of the All India Marathi Natya Parishad, Mumbai, will attend the event as the Chief Guest, he informed.

The names of the eminent personalities to be honored with awards this year are as follows-

  • Late Bal Gandharva Award – Shri Dnyanesh Pendharkar (Senior Drama Music Composer)

  • Acharya P.K. Atre Award – Shri Sankarshan Karhade (Actor, Poet, Writer, Anchor)

  • Late Arun Sarnaik Award – Pravin Tarde (Actor, Writer, Director)

  • Late Smita Patil Award – Spruha Joshi (Poetess, Actress, Anchor)

  • Late Jaywant Dalvi Award – Arvind Jagtap (Drama–Cinema–Television Writer)

Along with this, on the occasion of the Amrit Mahotsav of Padmashri Girish Prabhune, the pride of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, and on the occasion of senior classical vocalist Pt. Suresh Sakhawalkar receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Natya Parishad, Central, special felicitation will also be done.

Suvarna Kale, Rati Deshmukh, Sandeep alias Jammad Deshmukh, Sandeep alias Bablu Jagdale, Somnath Tarte.

In addition, winners of the State Drama Competition 2024 will also be honored on this occasion. These include Manohar Juwatkar, Kamlesh Biche, Vinayak Pardeshi, Atharva Kulkarni, Shruti Bhosale, and Dinesh Sable.
