Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Ravi Kishan opened up about the hardships he faced during his early days and explained how those experiences continue to influence his lifestyle even after achieving success.
‘I Still Order Khichdi at Seven-Star Hotels’
Ravi Kishan said that even after becoming successful, he does not feel comfortable ordering expensive food at luxury hotels.
He explained that whether the bill is being paid by a production house, from his own pocket or during a political campaign, he still prefers to order khichdi.
“I am so poor that even today, when I go to a seven-star hotel, I don’t order good food. Whether it is from the production house, my own money or during a party campaign, I still order khichdi,” he said.
He also revealed that he feels hesitant about giving his clothes to a laundry. According to him, he often thinks about taking the clothes back home to Mumbai, Delhi or Gorakhpur and getting them washed there.
Ravi Kishan said the memories of his financially difficult days remain deeply rooted in his mind and continue to affect his habits.
Social Media Users Take a Dig
A video of Ravi Kishan’s comments was shared by a user on X, who wrote, “We have seen poverty 2.0.”
The post soon attracted reactions from several users, many of whom mocked the actor-politician’s description of his poverty.
Some users sarcastically commented, “May God give everyone such poverty,” referring to his seven-star hotel remark and his reported financial status.
Ravi Kishan’s Declared Assets
According to the election affidavit filed by Ravi Kishan during the 2024 Gorakhpur Lok Sabha election, he had declared movable and immovable assets worth approximately ₹43.32 crore.
The affidavit reportedly mentioned around ₹2.49 crore in bank accounts and jewellery worth approximately ₹14.37 lakh. It also listed flats and houses in Mumbai, Gorakhpur and Jaunpur, along with six vehicles.
Ravi Kishan has studied up to Class 12.
His latest comments have once again sparked a debate online, with social media users contrasting his account of his humble beginnings with his present financial status.
