Former U.S. President Donald Trump has made serious allegations against China, claiming that the country stole data belonging to 220 million American voters. Trump made the claim during a 25-minute address to the nation, where he accused China of illegally obtaining voter files and manipulating voter information.

Trump said that China has been involved in such activities since the 2020 U.S. presidential election. He repeated his earlier claim that voter lists were altered and irregularities took place during that election, which he said contributed to his party’s defeat.

According to Trump, China illegally accessed voter files of around 220 million citizens with the help of an American journalist. He further alleged that the stolen data was modified and used to interfere with the election process.

During his speech, Trump also criticized several senior officials and said documents had revealed that the U.S. election system was vulnerable to foreign interference and hacking. He claimed that the most concerning part was that this information had been hidden from the American public for years.

Trump said the current election system in the United States has failed to ensure transparent and fair elections.

Trump Warns of Threats from Russia, China and Iran

Trump also referred to an intelligence report, saying that countries such as Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, along with some international criminal groups, have the capability to interfere in the U.S. election process.

He said he has ordered the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the FBI to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter. Trump also urged Republican lawmakers in Congress to introduce new legislation to strengthen voter identification rules and citizenship requirements.
