The accident occurred at around 12 noon when a white Mahindra electric car allegedly went out of control while passing through Sector-10. According to preliminary information, the vehicle veered off its path and ploughed into pedestrians walking along the roadside.

Eyewitnesses claimed that eight to ten people were hit in the incident. However, police have officially confirmed that one person lost his life while five others sustained injuries.

Local residents rushed to rescue the victims and shifted the injured to MGM Hospital in ambulances, where they are currently undergoing treatment. The deceased has been identified as Nadeem Khan, and his body has been sent to the sub-district hospital for post-mortem examination.
