Sangvi District Hospital to Become Super Specialty
Health Minister Dr. Prakash Abitkar assures major healthcare upgrade after MLA Shankar Jagtap's persistent follow-up; advanced treatment facilities for critical illnesses to benefit thousands of patients.
Sangvi District Hospital is set to undergo a major transformation into a Super Specialty Hospital, following an assurance by Maharashtra Public Health Minister Dr. Prakash Abitkar during his visit to the hospital on Saturday. The announcement comes after continuous efforts and persistent follow-up by Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap, who has been advocating for strengthening healthcare services for the people of Pimpri-Chinchwad and nearby rural areas.
During the visit, Dr. Abitkar inspected the hospital’s infrastructure, patient facilities, medical equipment, medicine stock, and overall healthcare services. He also reviewed the functioning of various departments and issued necessary instructions to officials regarding immediate improvements and efficient implementation of healthcare services.
The inspection was attended by Health Services Commissioner Sanjay Katkar, Joint Director Dr. Sunita Golait, and District Civil Surgeon Dr. Ambadas Devmane, along with other senior officials.

Special efforts will be made through MLA Shankar Jagtap to ensure this equipment is utilized more effectively and efficiently for patient care. Our objective is to upgrade the hospital so that common citizens receive free, high-quality healthcare comparable to private hospitals.”

He further stated that upgrading the hospital to Super Specialty status would enable expert treatment for serious illnesses such as heart diseases, neurological disorders, and kidney ailments, reducing the need for patients to travel to Mumbai or other metropolitan cities for advanced medical care.
The proposed upgrade is expected to significantly strengthen public healthcare infrastructure in the region and provide affordable, specialized treatment to thousands of patients.,
