A total of eight tenders were received for this project, which is being implemented by the Municipal Corporation’s Environment Engineering Department. Following a technical evaluation, three bidders were deemed eligible, and their financial bids were subsequently scrutinized. In this process, the revised bid submitted by M/s L.C. Infra Pvt. Ltd. emerged as the most advantageous; the company expressed its willingness to execute the work at a rate approximately three percent lower than the estimated cost. This is expected to result in savings for the Municipal Corporation while ensuring high-quality work.
Administrative approval had previously been granted for the project with a total outlay of approximately ₹526 crore, comprising contributions from the Central Government, State Government, and the Municipal Corporation. The Standing Committee has now approved the final tender amount of ₹430,75,61,777. This amount includes costs for royalty and material testing, and the project completion period has been set at 36 months. Additionally, sewage treatment plants with a total capacity of 60 MLD will be constructed along the banks of the Indrayani River. Notably, the Standing Committee comprises 16 members. Among them, Sandeep Waghere (NCP) and Sulabha Ubale (Shiv Sena) opposed the proposal; however, it was approved despite their recorded dissent.
Upon completion of the project, it will be possible to preserve the Indrayani River’s natural character, reduce silt and pollution in the riverbed, beautify the riverbanks, develop green zones, create pedestrian facilities, and promote eco-friendly urban development. This initiative will not only provide citizens with a clean, safe, and attractive riverfront but also bolster future sustainable development. Following the Standing Committee’s approval, administrative formalities are set to be completed, and actual work is expected to commence soon; this is considered a significant milestone in the environmental history of Pimpri-Chinchwad.
“The Indrayani River is the environmental lifeline of Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Its conservation and rejuvenation are not merely matters of development but a responsibility we owe to future generations. With the Standing Committee approving this ambitious project under AMRUT 2.0, river pollution will decrease, ecological balance will be maintained, and citizens will gain access to a clean, beautiful, and eco-friendly riverfront. This project will serve as a milestone for the city’s sustainable development. The Standing Committee is committed to ensuring high-quality work and timely completion.”

“The Indrayani River is an integral part of our cultural, religious, and environmental heritage. Revitalizing this river is not merely a development project; it is a pledge to create a clean and thriving environment for future generations. The Standing Committee’s approval of the Indrayani River Improvement Project under AMRUT 2.0 marks a significant step in this direction. Being implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, this project will reduce river pollution, improve water quality, conserve biodiversity, and provide citizens with a clean, safe, and attractive riverfront. We are committed to ensuring that this project is executed with high quality and transparency, and completed within the stipulated timeframe, through the coordination of the State Government, the Municipal Corporation, and all relevant agencies.
