India A began their Sri Lanka tour with the opening unofficial Test, where Sudharsan and Ayush Pandey walked out to open the innings. While the visitors suffered regular setbacks from the other end, Sudharsan stood firm and anchored the innings with remarkable maturity and attacking intent.

Ruturaj, Padikkal Fail to Deliver

Ayush Pandey was the first to depart after scoring 25 runs. Expectations were high from Devdutt Padikkal, but the left-hander managed only 12 runs before returning to the pavilion. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad spent some time at the crease but failed to convert his start, getting dismissed for 22 runs.

With wickets falling at regular intervals, Sudharsan took control of the innings and steadily guided India A out of trouble. He first completed a composed half-century before accelerating towards a well-deserved century.

Century in Just 130 Balls

Sudharsan reached the three-figure mark in just 130 deliveries, showcasing a perfect blend of aggression and control. His innings featured 14 elegant boundaries, with the batter relying heavily on timing and placement rather than power-hitting.

Interestingly, despite scoring at a brisk pace, Sudharsan did not hit a single six during his century. Instead, he punished loose deliveries through the gaps and kept the scoreboard moving with classy strokeplay along the ground.

The knock stood out for its balance between patience and attacking cricket, making it one of the most impressive innings of the ongoing India A tour.

Dhruv Jurel Leading India A

Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel is leading the India A side on the Sri Lanka tour. The squad features several exciting talents, including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devdutt Padikkal, Sheikh Rasheed, Harsh Dubey, Anshul Kamboj and Aqib Nabi.

Although senior batters like Gaikwad and Padikkal failed to capitalize on their starts, Sudharsan’s outstanding century powered India A beyond the 200-run mark and placed the visitors in a strong position. Cricket fans will now be eager to see how big a first-innings total India A can build from here.
