Pimpri BJP Women Protest Reservation Row
Mass rally condemns opposition to women’s reservation bill

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Correspondent: A massive protest rally was organized in Pimpri-Chinchwad by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), raising strong voices in support of women’s rights and condemning the opposition’s stance on the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ (Women’s Reservation Bill). The demonstration highlighted growing political tensions over the issue and mobilized a large number of women participants across the city.
According to BJP leaders, the opposition by Congress-led alliances to the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament has undermined the rights of millions of women across India. Party representatives termed the resistance as an “insult to women’s empowerment” and accused opposition parties of promoting dynastic and anti-women politics.
The rally, titled “Mahilaancha Janakrosh Morcha” (Women’s Public Outrage March), was held under the guidance of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, State BJP President Ravindra Chavan, and BJP Mahila Morcha State President MLA Chitra Wagh. The event witnessed participation from a large number of women office-bearers, activists, and citizens.

The march was organized with the initiative of BJP Pimpri-Chinchwad City President Shatrughna (Bapu) Kate and Mahila Morcha City President Sujata Palande. Supporters of Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge also joined the protest in significant numbers, adding to the strength of the rally.
During the protest, corporator Prof. Sonali Gavhane strongly voiced her stance, emphasizing that opposing women’s reservation reflects a mindset against women’s empowerment. She called for continued public resistance against forces opposing equal political participation for women.
The rally concluded with strong condemnation of Congress and its allied parties, as participants collectively asserted their commitment to fight for women’s rights and dignity.
“Opposing women’s reservation is not just political opposition, it is an attack on the dignity and self-respect of women across India. We will not allow any conspiracy that denies women their rightful place in governance. Under the guidance of BJP MLA Mahesh Landge, women in Pimpri-Chinchwad are united and determined to continue this fight until justice is achieved,”
– Prof. Sonali Gavhane, Corporator, PCMC.
