Positive Talks with Commissioner on Pending Development Works in Pimpri

Pimpri-Chinchwad: In a significant push to accelerate pending development works, Corporator Dabbu Aswani led a delegation to meet the Municipal Commissioner on Monday (April 20). The meeting focused on resolving long-standing civic issues and ensuring timely execution of development projects in the Pimpri area.

During the discussion, a comprehensive review of 18 crucial issues related to the city’s overall development was undertaken. One of the major proposals included the construction of a multi-level parking facility to address the growing parking congestion in the Pimpri Market area. Immediate traffic management planning was also demanded for key junctions such as Sai Chowk, Shagun Chowk, Deluxe Chowk, Jamtani Chowk, Trilok Crematorium Chowk, and Bhatnagar area to ease frequent traffic bottlenecks.

The meeting also emphasized the timely completion of the Dairy Farm railway flyover. A proposal was put forward to name the flyover after late leader Ajitdada Pawar as a mark of respect.

On the health and sanitation front, concerns were raised over gaps in waste collection and the functioning of health inspectors in Ward 21. Discussions also included the construction of a new 20 lakh litre capacity water tank in the Pimpri MHADA area, installation of booster pumps, and implementation of CCTV surveillance for enhanced security.

Further demands included faster issuance of birth and death certificates, improved maintenance of public gardens with dedicated security personnel, and development of sports grounds. The growing issue of homelessness and abandoned vehicles on city roads was also highlighted, with a call for immediate action.

Ahead of the monsoon, officials were instructed to undertake scientific cleaning of drainage lines, gutters, and nullahs to prevent waterlogging and related issues.

Corporator Nikita Tai Kadam, Corporator Priyanka Tai Kudale, along with senior municipal officials and advisors, were present at the meeting.

We will continue to follow up with the administration to ensure timely completion of essential services, safety measures, and development works. Our goal is to make Pimpri a more efficient, clean, and modern city,”
