Iran Cargo Ship Touska | In a significant escalation in the Middle East, the United States Navy has seized an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel, Touska, in the Gulf of Oman. The move comes amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran over maritime security and regional dominance.

According to official sources, the massive 900-foot cargo ship attempted to breach a naval blockade imposed by the United States. Acting on this, the US Navy intercepted and took control of the vessel after issuing multiple warnings.

Former US President Donald Trump confirmed the operation via the social media platform Truth Social. He stated that the Iranian crew failed to comply with repeated warnings, prompting US forces to take decisive action. Reports suggest that naval personnel disabled the ship by targeting its engine room, forcing it to halt before boarding and detaining all crew members.

The interception was reportedly carried out by the guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance, which had issued a final warning before executing the operation in international waters of the Gulf of Oman.

The vessel had already been under scrutiny, with the US Treasury Department previously imposing sanctions over suspicious activities linked to the ship. Authorities are currently inspecting the cargo to determine its contents, raising concerns over possible illicit or strategic materials.

This latest development is expected to further strain US-Iran relations, particularly in the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit chokepoint.

Recent incidents have also heightened fears of a broader conflict. Reports indicate Iranian forces previously fired upon an oil tanker and launched missile attacks on a container vessel. In response to the US action, Iranian forces are believed to have carried out drone strikes targeting American military assets in the region.
