Pimpri-Chinchwad | In a strong push towards youth empowerment and employment generation, Mayor Ravi Landge highlighted the growing importance of skill-based initiatives like the Kaushalyam Lighthouse project in creating sustainable job opportunities for young people.

During his visit to the Kaushalyam Lighthouse Project located in Yamunanagar, Nigdi, the Mayor conducted a detailed inspection and reviewed the training processes being implemented. He interacted with the trainees, appreciated their achievements, and felicitated successful candidates who have secured employment through the program.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Landge emphasized that in today’s rapidly evolving economic landscape, skill-based education has become crucial. “Training aligned with industry requirements is the need of the hour. Initiatives like these not only provide employment but also empower youth to become self-reliant,” he stated.

He further added that there is a growing need to replicate such successful models across the city. The Municipal Corporation is actively working under the ‘Mayor Youth Employment Initiative’ to expand job creation avenues and ensure that every young individual gets access to meaningful employment opportunities.

Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar, corporators Uttam Kendale and Anil Gholap, Regional Officer Atul Patil, CEO of Lighthouse Communities Amruta Bahulekar, Project Head Deepika Kedia, along with several other officials and stakeholders, were present during the visit.

The Mayor expressed satisfaction over the quality of training, employment outcomes, and the positive response from students. On this occasion, several successful candidates including Shivmurti Sonatakke, Sumedha Dhake, Sumit Kumbhkaran, Shankar Prasad, Rucha Londhe, and Akshay Mane were felicitated for securing jobs. Additionally, students like Om Surve, Sachin Jadhav, Preeti Kolekar, and Aarti Holade were recognized for successfully completing their skill development courses.

The initiative reflects a strong commitment by the civic administration to strengthen the city’s workforce and integrate more youth into the mainstream economy through skill development programs.
