“Innovation in Architecture” National Conference Held in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pune: To deliberate on emerging technologies and contemporary challenges in the field of architecture, Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Architecture, Akurdi, organized a two-day national conference titled “Innovation in Architecture, Technology, and Allied Fields.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from architects, researchers, academicians, and students from across the country.

The conference was inaugurated by renowned mentor Dr. Benny Kuricos and Architect Abhay Purohit, Chairman of the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. During the inaugural session, Dr. Kuricos highlighted the importance of integrating modern technology while preserving historical heritage. Architect Abhay Purohit emphasized professional ethics and urged students to remain relevant in a rapidly globalizing world.

For the awards ceremony, Dr. Prabhakar Desai, Director of the Examination and Evaluation Board of Savitribai Phule Pune University, attended as the chief guest. The institute’s Director Tejas Satej Patil, Executive Director Admiral Amit Vikram (Retd.), and Chief Financial Officer Bipin Sharma appreciated the dedicated efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Encouraging Research Spirit

Over the two days, detailed technical sessions were conducted on topics such as sustainable and environmentally friendly design, the application of modern Artificial Intelligence in architecture, and sustainable development practices. Faculty members and students from various institutions presented their research papers, and outstanding projects were felicitated.

Renowned architects also shared insights from their professional projects, providing participants with valuable practical exposure.

The conference was coordinated under the leadership of Architect Chhaya Tirvir, Convener and In-charge Principal. The overall execution was guided by Principal Dr. Dhananjay Chaudhary and Architect Chhaya Tirvir, ensuring high academic and technical standards while fostering a strong research culture.
